The most important part of the roll forming machine is the roller, which is the core part of the entire roll forming machine. The quality of the roller directly determines the service life of the machine, so how do you choose the roller of the roll forming machine?
The selection of the roller of the roll forming machine should be considered from two aspects, one is the material of the roller itself, and the other is the processing of the roller.
The commonly used materials for rollers are 45# steel, chrome 12 steel, and bearing steel. The specific material used depends on the cost of the machine itself and the material of the steel coil you want to use. If you want a good roll forming machine that is of exceptional quality and has a long lifespan, then you can choose a roll forming machine that has rollers of outstanding quality, such as chrome 12 and bearing steel. That will increase your procurement costs. If you use ordinary strip steel or color steel coil, then-No. 45 steel can fully meet your needs. If you use a high-strength plate or aluminum profile, you should choose Cr12 or bearing steel. Under normal circumstances, bearing steel and Cr12 are more wear-resistant than No. 45 steel.
The second key issue is the profile material you use, which determines the processing requirements of your rollers. If you choose ordinary PPGI, then 45-gauge steel can satisfy you; if you use regular GI, your rollers need to be quenched. If your material is a high-strength plate or aluminum plate, then your rollers need to be satisfied and tempered or other treatment to increase the life of the roller.
